“It wasn’t by chance a plane towing a banner denouncing Republican state Sen. Scott Wagner flew over People’s Bank Park in York City Tuesday evening.

“The York County senator just so happened to be holding a fundraiser during the York Revolution game and Pennsylvania Spotlight, a nonprofit social welfare organization, ran, err, flew, with the opportunity to make a very visual display about what they think of him.

“The banner read “Sen. Scott Wagner taking a baseball bat to working families.” The wording is a reference to when Wagner, during a 2014 phone interview with a radio program, said he’ll be “sitting in the back of the room with a baseball bat” as he discussed getting things done in Harrisburg.

“The airplane banner speaks for itself. Senator Wagner is no friend to working families. And whenever we see someone acting against Pennsylvania’s best interests, we’ll be there shining a light and holding them accountable for their true record,” Josh Henne, spokesman for Pennsylvania Spotlight, wrote in an email.”
