Pennsylvania Spotlight is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization dedicated to educating the public on issues that enhance the well-being of middle-class families and workers here in Pennsylvania. We’re giving a voice to the important issues that affect our daily lives and we’re shining a light on the deep-pocketed special interests acting against the best interest of Pennsylvania residents.
Pennsylvania Spotlight is working to educate the public about attempts to divide our state. Pennsylvanians deserve an inclusive vision that values all people, creates a strong middle-class and doesn’t fall into the divisive politics we’ve seen emerge across the nation. Our mission is to expose the money and bad ideas funneling in from out-of-state billionaires and right-wing networks, so they don’t succeed in importing extremism to Pennsylvania.
Right now, there are organizations working in secrecy to establish and promote a radical agenda all across America. They’re often funded by a complex web of wealthy, out-of-state donors who don’t have Pennsylvania’s best interests in mind. We’re seeking to bring them out from the shadows when they negatively influence public policy against the interests of Pennsylvanians.
Our aim is to shine a light on extremism and the deep-pocketed special interests who seek to divide our state, pit residents against one another and act against the best interest of Keystone State residents. People want to build an inclusive vision for our state that values all people, creates a strong middle-class, and doesn’t fall into the divisive politics we’ve seen emerge in other states. Our mission is to uncover and hold accountable organizations who work for regressive action on issues such as LGBTQ rights, worker’s rights, protecting our environment, promoting fair tax policy and supporting quality public education.
Pennsylvania Spotlight cares deeply about our state, and all its people. We stand united to make sure Pennsylvania thrives and becomes the best place to live, work and raise a family. And we want to be sure the Koch brothers, the Commonwealth Foundation, The Fairness Center and their allies are not successful in creating the same poisonous political atmosphere we’ve seen in other states. Now more than ever, we must stand united in moving Pennsylvania forward and against those who stand in the way of progress.
